About the venue

A working spirits distillery in Hindmarsh Valley

Cut Hill Wall Distillery sits at 34 Mont Rosa Road, Hindmarsh Valley, fifteen minutes inland from Victor Harbor and a little under ninety minutes south of Adelaide. The distillery makes small-batch spirits. We run our cheese, pasta, dumpling and gnocchi classes in the venue space alongside the stills.

It is one of those venues where the building is part of the class. The copper of the stills, the warm hum of the equipment, the smell of warming malt and citrus oils. You leave with what you made, a tasting plate of distillery spirits if you want one, and a sense of how things actually get made.

Class space

Classes run in the venue space attached to the distillery. The bench is set up for hands-on cooking. Hot water baths for the cheese class, prep boards for pasta and dumplings.

The spirits side

Most guests stay for a tasting after the class. The distillery’s small-batch range is available to taste in the cellar door space next to the venue. A formal distillery tour can be added to your class booking.

Common questions

FAQs about Cut Hill Wall Distillery

Is Cut Hill Wall Distillery accessible?

Cut Hill Wall Distillery is a rural property with a mix of indoor and outdoor areas. There is level access to the main cellar door spaces and parking close to the building. Some surfaces are gravel or compacted paths. If you use a wheelchair or walker, please let us know when booking so we can advise on the most suitable access points and class set-up for the day.

Do all venues have heating and air conditioning?

All venues we work with have a combination of heating, cooling, or good ventilation to keep guests comfortable in most seasons. As some spaces are heritage or semi-open, we encourage guests to dress in layers suitable for South Australian coastal and wine region weather. If there are any specific notes about a venue, we include them in the event information.

Is shade or shelter available at the venues?

Yes. All class locations provide indoor or under cover spaces so the experience is not dependent on direct sun or rain. Where gardens and outdoor areas are used, we also have access to sheltered spaces for comfort and safety if the weather changes.
