§ Inclusive experiences

Every food lover, welcomed

Hands at the bench, voices around the table, and a class that adapts to the people in the room. We design every cooking class so guests with different mobility, sensory, dietary and learning needs can take part fully.

§ What we hold ourselves to

Three things we hold ourselves to

Accessible where possible

Most of our venues offer step-free access, accessible parking, and accessible toilets. Where a venue has limits we say so plainly.

See venue access details

Supportive, adult-focussed learning

Jackie trained as an adult educator before turning her kitchen into a school. Our classes meet people where they are: a confident weeknight cook, a nervous first-timer, or someone who needs the recipe in larger print.

More about how we teach

Serious about allergies and dietary needs

Tell us when you book. We adapt the menu, segregate prep where possible, and brief venue staff.

§ Sensory and learning support

Nuance hearing-assist glasses and Meta vision glasses, supplied by Health Partners

Our sponsor Health Partners Optical supplies Nuance hearing-assist glasses and Meta vision glasses for guests to borrow during class. The Nuance glasses help with hearing in a busy environment, and the Meta glasses help with low vision, dyslexia, reading recipes, and a range of other learning styles.

Tell us when you book if you would like to borrow a pair for the day and we will have them ready at the bench. There is no extra cost, and our team will brief you on how to use them in a few minutes before the class begins.

Dietary requirements

We adapt the menu, segregate prep where possible, and brief venue staff.

Can you cater for allergies?

Yes. Tell us when you book and we will adapt the menu. For severe allergies we use dedicated prep boards and utensils and brief venue staff before the class. Please flag anaphylactic allergies (such as peanuts or shellfish) at least seven days before the class.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?

Yes. Many classes are already vegetarian-friendly. For vegan adaptations on classes built around dairy or meat (mozzarella, sausage, steak) please flag at booking so we can plan a parallel menu for you.

Can I do a gluten-free version of the pasta class?

Yes. We run a gluten-free pasta variant using a blend of GF flours that produces a workable dough. Note this on your pasta booking and we will prep your station separately.

Are your kitchens completely allergen-free?

No commercial kitchen can guarantee a fully allergen-free environment, because allergens are present in other classes and other guests’ dishes. We mitigate cross-contact with dedicated boards and utensils, careful prep, and venue staff briefings.

Yes. We host guests in their seventies and eighties regularly. Our presenters teach at a pace that suits the room and keep the class moving without rushing anyone. Bench heights, seating breaks and pace are all manageable.

Are you LGBTQIA+ welcoming?

Yes, deeply. We welcome guests of every gender identity, sexuality, family shape and background. The bench is set up so everyone has the same place at the table.
