A Cut Above is a premium hands on hibachi steak masterclass held at historic Bungala House in Yankalilla. You cook premium South Australian beef over live flame, learn steak techniques and finish with a shared long lunch. The class includes a full native food experience where you taste, cook with and learn about native Australian flavours.

Yes. Native food education and tasting is a major part of the experience. You cook with ingredients such as anise myrtle, wattleseed, pepperberry, saltbush and lemon myrtle. Guests also make a native spiced mayonnaise and a native infused butter to pair with their steak.

You learn how to select cuts, prepare, season and rest steak, manage hibachi heat, make a native inspired mayonnaise and native infused butter, balance flavours using native ingredients and pair your steak with sides.

The experience runs for approximately three hours including the seated long lunch at the end.

Your ticket includes premium South Australian beef, all ingredients and equipment, hibachi use, native tasting and flavour education, making native mayo and native infused butter, a long lunch featuring the steak you cook, wine served with lunch and guidance from Jackie Mazzocato and guest chef Stephen Edwards.

The class is held at Bungala House, 34 Main Street, Yankalilla. It is approximately a 60 to 90 minute drive from Adelaide, making it a popular option for people searching for cooking classes near Adelaide.
